2014!

2014 already?
A very happy new year to all of you!

The thought for the day comes from Neil Gaiman, whose new year's wishes are inspiring, energizing and liberating. A teeny snip:

I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes.

Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world.  You're doing things you've never done before...

So that's my wish—for you, for all of us and for myself:
Make New Mistakes
Make glorious, amazing mistakes.
Make mistakes nobody's ever made before.
Don't freeze, don't stop, don't worry that it isn't good enough, or it isn't perfect...

Whatever it is you're scared of doing, DO IT.
Make your mistakes, next year and forever...

2013!

I want to wish you very happy new year — better late than never, eh? I've been a bit AWOL in recent times but I hope to be more present in the year to come.  Until I return to regular posting, here's an offshoot from something I've been working on, to wish you bonne année, and auguri per tutto— buona vita, buon lavoro, buon futuro...

Can't say better than that!!

Never too late...

Hi!  I've been gone for. bit, but I'm back now....

Since the last time I made a sign of life, all has been upheaval here at the Secret Blog™: uprooted at a moment's notice, I now find myself in another place with different dramatis personnae —minus one :-(

But this is neither the time nor place. Suffice it to say that I have returned, just in time to be the very last person in the world to wish you a very happy new year.  May your imagination blossom and grow!

Like this bird* I will be back before long with news of what I make and what catches my eye.  In the meantime, I leave you with a few things I've noticed lately:

*PS. This bird image (a monoprint/collage I made last summer in Italy) has been on display at the Museo Zavrel in a group show (curated by Linda Wolfsgruber and Monica Monachesi) based on the theme of Gianni Rodari's stories. It will soon be touring other cities in Italy and elsewhere...

La rentrée

I'm back!!  ... did you miss me?

During my summer break, I did a bit of traveling..

I went to Italy!

I learned new things! I participated in some art workshops; I've been attending to some deadlines (both work and otherwise).

Also, I preferred to refrain from putting things into words for a while, the better to savour and absorb my new experiences.

All in all, I had a wonderful summer — really really refreshing.  Details will follow in future blog posts — very soon, I promise!

How was your summer?

Anniversaire

Exactly one year ago today, I began this blog (Top Secret™, but some of you found out anyway!). It has really taken on a life of its own— opened doors and windows in my life in surprising ways.  Happy birthday, little blog!

And thank you to you (yes, you) for reading, looking and shooting the breeze with me.  And stay tuned for more...

Re-bonjour!

I'm back!!

I took a trip (of which more soon) and this kept me busy with many preparations beforehand, and some follow-through afterwards.  And then out-of-town guests, and April in Paris™... basically, life happened!

But I am back now, and I have a lot to tell.  So stay tuned!

Begin afresh, afresh, afresh...

Happy 2011!

I don't know about you, but I am so ready for a new start.  So here's to a clean slate, a new page, and fresh beginnings! Tabula rasa and carpe diem, amen.  All the best for the new year!

PS.  The title is from a favourite poem, here.
